Sembler Adds To Senior Development Team
New Hires To Advance Opportunities in Florida, Open New Office in North Carolina
The Sembler Company has bolstered its development team with two new, senior-level hires this month – a move prompted by the company’s continued commitment to the pursuit of development opportunities in some of the southeast’s best performing markets.
“The southeast U.S. is in an exceptionally active growth cycle in terms of new development, so we need to staff appropriately to take advantage of the opportunities coming our way,” said Josh Beyer, Sembler’s Senior Vice President of Development.
According to Ron Wheeler, Sembler’s CEO: “Many of our clients – especially grocery stores – are eyeing Florida, the Carolinas and Tennessee for expansion or looking to hold on to their market share among tremendous growth. These are areas with great jobs, significant population growth and the cultural, recreational and retail development that typically follow.”
Industry veteran and former Air Force Captain JOE DESTASIO will be based in Raleigh, North Carolina, focusing on identifying development opportunities in the Carolinas, Virginia, north Georgia and Tennessee. It’s a new office for the St. Petersburg, FL-based company, which has offices in Jacksonville, south Florida, Atlanta and Puerto Rico, and currently leases and manages nearly 11 million square feet of retail developments located throughout the southeast U.S. DeStasio has experience with some of the biggest commercial real estate companies in the country, including Westfield Corp., Regency Centers and Lennar Commercial.
JON GRABER will work from the St. Petersburg headquarters, identifying development opportunities throughout Florida and parts of Georgia. Graber has a decade of industry experience, most recently as Director of Retail Sales with Franklin Street Real Estate Services in Tampa, FL – but he began his career with five years at Sembler. “I know and trust the people at Sembler, and believe the long-term opportunities here are phenomenal,” Graber said. “I’m thrilled to be back.”
Graber and DeStasio aren’t the only new hires this month. Another former Sembler employee rejoining the “family,” Kelley Gutierrez, joined the Atlanta office as a Property Manager. Michael Bartley will augment leasing and development operations from the St. Petersburg office as a Market Research Manager.
Sembler CEO Ron Wheeler said: “We’re excited to be adding so much top talent.”
