Sembler Breaks Ground on Bradford Creek
Construction Begins on First Kroger Marketplace in North Alabama
The Sembler Company recently broke ground on Bradford Creek, an approximately 150,000-square-foot neighborhood shopping center anchored by north Alabama’s first Kroger Marketplace, a concept that adds apparel, home goods, and a toy department to expanded grocery offerings, including a natural foods department and more prepared foods.
“Bradford Creek is Sembler’s second Kroger-anchored center to break ground in the Huntsville market in the last 12 months,” said Josh Beyer, Sembler’s Senior Vice President of Development. “We are impressed by the market’s continued employment strength and residential growth, and we see a lot of opportunities to provide the community with convenient access to the goods and services they want.”
“We are excited about opening our first Kroger Marketplace store in the North Alabama area,” said Melissa Eads, Kroger spokesperson. “A Marketplace store has everything customers expect to see at Kroger plus so much more like apparel, home décor, kitchen and bath items, toys, and a Bistro with freshly prepared meals to go.”
Bradford Creek will feature the 123,000-square-foot Kroger Marketplace, with an additional 20,000 square feet of in-line retail space. The property also includes two outparcels. Located on the southeast corner of US Hwy 72 and County Line Rd., the center is in a high-growth area with ongoing residential construction.
Sembler expects shopping to begin in September 2016 at the company’s other Kroger-anchored center in the area: Midtown Marketplace, an approximately 114,000-square-foot neighborhood shopping center located at the corner of Browns Ferry Road and Wall Triana Highway in Madison, Alabama.
The Midtown Marketplace center will be anchored by an approximately 102,000-square-foot Kroger grocery store, with 12,000 additional square feet of retail space, plus three outparcels.
