West Villages Florida and Sembler Begin Construction on West Villages Marketplace

Joint venture partners, West Villages and The Sembler Company announce the groundbreaking of West Villages Marketplace, a Publix anchored neighborhood shopping center, located at the corner of West Villages Parkway and U.S. 41/S. Tamiami Trail in South Sarasota County, Florida.

Scheduled to open Fall 2019, the 105,000-square-foot retail plaza will be anchored by a 47,000 square-foot Publix Supermarket and supported by a complementary mix of services and restaurants designed for convenience. The highly‐anticipated center is the first retail node to be integrated into the acclaimed West Villages Florida master-planned community over the next several years. As West Villages continues to reshape South Sarasota County, each retail component has been thoughtfully planned to complement existing and future residential growth and create best-in-class retail environments for residents and visitors.

Careful consideration has been given to pleasing and interesting architectural styles, design, timeless materials, pedestrian-friendly walkways, unique storefronts with elegant signage, lush landscape, and seating areas that encourage exploration of the surrounding retail offerings.

The new Publix at West Villages Marketplace will include a full-service pharmacy as well as a large bakery and deli.

In addition to the Publix, additional Marketplace signed leases include Heartland Dental, Sparkle Brite Pools, a Japanese/Thai restaurant, China1, All Star Laundry and a nail salon. 7-Eleven has leased one of the outparcels along Tamiami Trail for a gas station and convenience store. Marketplace leasing efforts will continue to target restaurants, coffee shops, financial services, home design and décor, beauty and health services.
